The common dress worn by the priest and the aulter boys and helpers. it is a long large white or rose coloured long plain dress. it is the symbol of chirst`s external dress , it also tell us that we all are baptised . the name for chirst`s external dress in syriac is kothina. those who were the kothina thy were the chirst him self. it implise the spiritual and pure life.
The Sunnara
The Syriac name for the belt worn above the kothina . it is the symbol of working mentality and hyper vigilance . also it is the symbol of the power and grace over the priest to perform holy mass in the altar.
The Urara
IT is the vestment worn by the priest in neck . it is the symbol of action priest hood . it is used in all other litergic secraments other than holy mass. it pro clame to make self blessed by the activity and action for the glory and power of god.
The Sande
IT is to make the hand of kothina orderd and perfect when seen from out. it is the symbol of chain which is worn by chirst during his suffering and sacrifice. it is the symbol of grace in priest which make his hands power full to perform the holy acts and the holy mass.
The Kapa (Pina)
It is the most external vestments worn by a syro malbar priest. it is the vestment of justice , it is the symbol of good sheparde , and the duty of a parish priest. it also show the justice of chirst and the glory of chirst , and says that the priest is filled with all kind of skills and goods,
